FAQ: Chiropractic for headaches

Chiropractic helps for headache pain
While headaches are one of the most common
ailments people suffer from, they are not normal. Drugs help to ease
the symptoms of headaches. However, chiropractic care tackles the
primary cause of different kinds of headaches.
Are drugs a good headache treatment?
Although
most drugs reduce the pain, they can also result in unwanted side
effects. More importantly, they fail to correct the primary cause of
your headache.
An Unknown Cause of Headache Pain
One of the most
common causes for headaches is inappropriate support the head gets from
spinal bones that are in the neck. Many people fail to notice their
inability to turn their head properly. This type of subluxation can
have an effect on muscles, nerves and blood flow to the head.
We
conduct a thorough inspection that identifies subluxation patterns that
cause headaches. Chiropractic care can treat your headaches very
effectively if they are related to tension caused by spinal
misalignment.
Headache Pain Caused by Lower Back Problems
Many people
are often surprised to know that problems in the lower back are one of
the main causes for their headaches. This is further affected by the
upper spine, which puts the head off centre.
We may not be
able to guarantee you results; however, we do have a high success rate
in treating patients with headaches. Each situation is unique and if
you want to know how to treat your headache, contact us so we can
discuss the situation.
Is headache pain and migraine pain caused by the spine?
No.
Not all headaches are related to the spine. Chemical toxins, physical
trauma and emotional stress are three of the most common causes for
headaches. A combination of the three can also lead to headaches. We
can track the most probable cause through our examination procedure.
How are subluxations caused?
Subluxations
are caused by three basic factors. Chemical causes include drugs,
alcohol, pollution, poor diet and preservatives. Accidents, slips and
falls, improper lifting and repetitive motions make up the physical
causes. Subluxations can also be caused by emotions like anger, fear
and stress.
What can I do, now that I know the pain is not “in my head”?
Pain
from psychological sources is common and real. However, the diagnosis
of the problem being “all in the head” is the last explanation health
practitioners resort to when they have no other reasons for your
problem. In such cases, we have discovered that it is unobserved
subluxations or cranial tension that cause headaches.
How soon can headache pain and migraine pain be cured?
Different
people react to chiropractic care differently. While some patients
witness improvements quickly, others take longer to notice a reduction
in symptoms. For instance, improvement can take quite some time if you
have been suffering from chronic headaches over many years. Your
progress through the entire headache treatment is monitored and recommendations
are modified accordingly.
What happens if the headache treatment is not helpful?
If
we are incapable of locating and correcting the root cause of your
health problem, we will get in touch with other experts who will be
able to help. Our main aim is to improve your health to the best of
your satisfaction.
