Introducing London Chiropractor, Dr. Gary Weber

Dr. Gary Weber

"I just wish I had known then what I know now...."

From a young age I had always had a passion for sport and I became hooked on martial arts, becoming a professional Karate Instructor in my early twenties.  I had always had a great desire to help motivate my students to a higher levels of fitness and health.  In my late twenties I went from being able to train for six hours a day to not being able to stand on my feet for more than ten minutes after a severe accident that damaged my pelvis and spine.  For the following few years I tried desperately to train but I was in continuous pain day and night, with no respite.  It seemed like every time I trained another injury would appear.  I was determined to return to good health; however, all the avenues of care - medical specialists, physical therapy - did not help.  I was progressively worsening and was now becoming quite desperate about my condition.  It was recommended that I see a Chiropractor, Dr. James Rousseau.  The first treatment I received  was the only relief from pain I had had in years.  My spinal condition was treated effectively over the coming months.  After which I returned to all previous activities.  In fact, chiropractic made such an impression upon me that I made the decision to spend the next five years studying it.

I attended the Anglo-European Chiropractic College in Bournemouth. Returning to student life in my thirties wasn't all I had expected it to be, but the rewards were worth it.  The first two years were spent studying academic subjects such as Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Radiography and Biophysics to mention just a few.  The last two years were spent studying clinical sciences such as Radiology, Nutrition, Neurology, Orthopedics, General Diagnosis and many more. My main passion was for Neurology and Nutrition.  Once we started learning the hands-on skills of treatment, I realised this was my true vocation.

The confidence I have in our abilities to provide the highest standard of care is fundamental to the principles of martial arts philosophy.  Whereby continuous hard work and study provides the knowledge, wisdom and ultimately most importantly - understanding.  Understanding the Holistic nature of the human physiological systems, especially the nervous system, gives an insight to the provision of quick effective treatment protocols and care for treatable pain and the underlying condition responsible.  It is our focus on allowing the nervous system to function freely without interference.  This allows the doctor and patient to achieve the high level of clinical treatment outcomes.  We can then move to the next level with regard to the patient's wellness.  We are privileged that you as a patient would put your trust in our care.  We will endeavour to keep your trust by providing the best service and care available at all times.  We want to provide outstanding value to your health and life.

I am married with two grown children and recently my daughter gave me the thrill of becoming a grandfather for the first time.  Both children work in the health care profession and have been involved at a high level in sports.  In my time away from the practice I run, go to the gym regularly and swim.  I have an interest in history and historical novels.  I have an interest in all aspects of health care, philosophy and self development.  I enjoy holidays but unfortunately or fortunately I seem to acquire patients wherever I may go.

I receive chiropractic treatment on a weekly basis.  This is important to me in order to maintain good integrity of my spine and nervous system. It will prevent degenerative changes and keep me as healthy as I can possibly be, today and for the future.  My philosophy on nutrition is that the food we consume should be beneficial by providing nutrients.  The food should be easy to digest and metabolise, as organic as possible.  The  body's metabolism functions in an acid base environment.  Certain foods which create more fluid and blood acidity will damage you in the long term (coffee, alcohol, grains and meat to name a few).  Others will create a more alkaline environment which is more health enhancing (green vegetables, root vegetables, berries and the more acidic tasting fruits).  My diet will mostly reflect this philosophy. A simple key to good health is to allow your body to function to the best of its ability.  To function with a symmetrical posture, without having to cope with a spine that is misaligned thus allowing the nervous system to function without interference.  Drink water and eat food that does not cause damage to your health.  Everybody should learn to take responsibility for their own health.  If you take care of your body, it will take care of you.
